Your role
As team leader of the Education Quality Office, you will manage the implementation and further development of the University's quality processes in education, and lead preparations for institutional evaluation and accreditation. Reporting to the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, you will be responsible for the current team of two quality and process specialists, and will work in close coordination with the quality management staff of the University's three Faculties, as well as with educational managers and support services throughout the University.
You will bring specific expertise and be directly responsible for:
- Proposing, implementing, and developing the University's quality assurance framework for education, in compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area
- Organising the processes for the creation, monitoring, (peer) review and development of study programmes: Provision of process information and timelines, support for preparation of documents, feedback and assessment of proposals, reporting, support for decision-making, follow-up
- Working with Faculties and central services in organising and coordinating initiatives for competence development in teaching (e.g., Advance HE certifications, the University's initiative)
- In collaboration with Faculties, maintaining instruments for student and graduate feedback, and developing them further
- Supporting the organisation of the periodical external evaluation of the University's teaching and learning activities, of external accreditations or subject-specific evaluations
- Managing quality assurance projects in relation with strategic initiatives or following internal audits
- Supporting quality assurance and development for student services, student participation and engagement, student case management, academic integrity, student complaints and appeals
- Developing, and ensuring compliance with, the University's Study Regulations, academic policies, procedures, and academic processes
- In coordination with the University's service for institutional research, analysing educational data and providing insight and evidence on education quality to University leadership and for educational strategy processes
Your profile
- Ability to act as trusted advisor and sparring partner to top management
- PhD or equivalent by work experience
- Significant experience in an academic setting (University or research institute)
- Several years' experience working on themes related to higher education management and development or quality assurance in higher education
- Experience in managing and motivating teams, and in coordinating projects across organisational units
- Fluency in English and good command in French (in written and oral). Understanding of German and/or Luxembourgish is an asset
- Exceptional organizational acumen, excellent writing and communication skills
- Adept project management capabilities, and very good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player, able to work in an international, multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
