The Journal of Digital History (JDH) is a pioneering international, academic, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal at the forefront of digital humanities. We are seeking a talented and motivated developer with a strong IT background to join our dynamic Luxembourg-based team. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills in the exciting field of digital humanities, elevating our project to new levels of sustainability and scalability. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enriching our existing application and creating interfaces that empower our editorial team.
Your role
- Design and implement intuitive dashboard views for data visualization and management
- Establish and maintain a robust Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline
- Develop cutting-edge software applications using modern programming languages
- Ensure our software meets the highest standards of performance and quality
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues efficiently
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and solve problems
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our open-source platform
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions
Your profile
- Bachelor's / Master degree in Computer Science, Digital Humanities, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in software development
- Proficiency in modern programming languages, particularly Python
- Knowledge of web frameworks, especially React
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and version control (GitHub)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Communication skills in English
