About the Domain Specialists
The domain specialists play a critical role in driving MyConnectivity’s activities by offering expert support and launching technical initiatives. Highly engaged with the broader ecosystem, the specialists provide forward-looking technological insights. Their responsibilities include developing in-house expertise, fostering ecosystem relationships, and identifying and addressing market challenges.
Your Role
The Telecom Specialist, Domain “Infrastructure”, manages technical projects within the Infrastructure Domain and contributes to the national strategy by leveraging their expertise in the market and telecom technologies. They collaborate closely with other Telecom Specialists at MyConnectivity. The focus is on telecom infrastructure projects, primarily fixed networks, with some potential involvement in wireless technologies. This role requires strong skills in listening to and engaging with various stakeholders, including the general public, professionals, and public sector entities.
What you will do
- Identify barriers and opportunities within Luxembourg’s telecommunication strategies, and propose solutions, projects, partnerships, or other initiatives to address these challenges.
- Build and maintain relationships with key players in both the public and private sectors, including local municipalities, central administrations, and private companies.
- Gather information on trends, technological developments, and opportunities from various sources such as research, industry reports, and expert insights. Develop a thorough understanding of Luxembourg’s telecom infrastructure.
- Drive national and European goals by managing impactful infrastructure projects and acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in the areas of construction, surveying, planning, and monitoring.
- Gain expertise in the process for obtaining necessary construction authorizations and permits for telecom infrastructure development.
- Create and contribute content for websites, social media, and printed materials, catering to both technical audiences and non-experts. Represent MyConnectivity at events and trade fairs, and assist the Marketing & Communication team with technical expertise, including proof-reading and providing insights.
Who you are
- Ideally, you hold a master’s degree in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning/Construction, or a related field, or you bring equivalent specialized experience.
- You have significant professional experience working in the telecommunication industry, with an engineering office or consultancy in Luxembourg.
- You are proficient in proactive communication with authorities, telecom professionals and the public.
- You are experienced in GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and knowledgeable in BIM methodologies.
- You are passionate about implementing innovation in MyConnectivity’s activities, including tooling, technical processes, and community engagement.
- You possess strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- You are hands-on and have the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
- You have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- You have experience in managing projects from inception to completion, including communication, estimation and execution.
- You are a self-driven, highly motivated professional who proactively leads assigned activities with a collaborative approach.
- You speak and write English fluently and can communicate in Luxemburgish and French without difficulty. Knowledge of German and other languages is an asset in the context of the activities.
