Head of Accounting and Finance GB/FR ( H/F/X) -

The Manpower Permanent Placement agency is recruiting for one of its clients, a financial institution, a Head of Finance and Accounting GB/FR (M/F/X) – Fixed-term contract, to join the Finance Department of the Bank.

Are mandatory for this role :

• A relevant experience within the Banking sector.


• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg and international financial regulations and accounting standards.

Location: Kirchberg

Status: Fixed-term contract of 1 year to start

The Head of Accounting and Finance will oversee the financial operations, accounting functions, and regulatory compliance within the bank. This leadership role involves strategic financial planning, managing financial risks, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reports.

Yours tasks:

• Daily validation of accounting entries;


• Monthly closing of the accounting. Review of the trail balance;


• Account Reconciliation;


• Daily reporting to the regulators (CSSF, Central Bank of Luxembourg);


• Monthly VAT declaration;


• New regulation/reporting implementation (Additional Monitoring Metrics,FinRep…);


• Person of contact for the external Auditors as well as CSSF and Central Bank of Luxembourg, Tax Administration;


• In charge of the Financial Statements;


• Active participation in the preparation of ICAAP, Pillar III and Long Form;


• Supervision and review of all local reporting CSSF/BCL (Finrep, Solvency, Liquidity Leverage Ratio, Large exposures and others);


• Verification of daily/weekly reports to the Mother Company and to the Senior Management;


• Responsible for liquidity risk management and liquidity stress tests;


• Preparation of the annual accounts (SFR) and LFR, LuxGaap and Finrep framework, reconciliation table;


• Responsible for tax computation and review of the Tax returns.


• Financial Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for all accounting and finance activities within the bank.


• Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.


• Budget Management: Lead the budgeting process, including forecasting and financial planning, to ensure alignment with the bank's strategic objectives.


• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial laws and regulations applicable in Luxembourg.


• Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the bank's assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.


• Audit Coordination: Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.


• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.


• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior management, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.


• Tax Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and optimization of the bank's tax position.


• Your profile:


• Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable and 7-10 years of experience.


• Extensive experience in accounting and finance within the banking sector, including a proven track record in a leadership role.


• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg and international financial regulations and accounting standards.


• Fluent in English and French, Portuguese will be considered as an asset.


• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.


• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
