Description of the Job
We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel – German Market, who will be responsible for identifying, managing, and mitigating legal risks in close coordination with internal stakeholders. The role focuses on legal matters with a specific emphasis on the German insurance market.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing legal advice on the development of solutions and business relationships with clients and partners.
- Drafting and negotiating partnership agreements, client-specific documents, and other legal materials.
- Conducting legal research, monitoring regulatory changes, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Managing complaints and litigation, liaising with external counsel to safeguard the company’s interests.
- Participating in strategic corporate projects and product development initiatives.
- Delivering legal training to staff and contributing to management reporting.
Profile of the Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- A law degree from Germany, preferably with bar admittance.
- Native German speaker with fluency in English.
- 5-8 years of experience in the life insurance or financial sector.
- Strong contract drafting skills and experience in handling litigation or client complaints.
- Knowledge of the Luxembourg financial sector and the German insurance market.
- Team player with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
