OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE (M/F)

THE JOB:
This new position sits as part of the Operations team in Europe and plays a key role in driving portfolio performance and growth through financial and operational analysis and stakeholder engagement. Reporting into the Director Operations, the Associate works with global colleagues to help oversee and manage the portfolio of investments in Europe. The role is based in Luxembourg and works as part of a high performing and collaborative local and global team. The role is closely connected our businesses in Europe which means some travel may be expected.
Principal Responsibilities
1.Portfolio management and analysis

  • Engage in proactive research on subjects pertinent to, or potentially impacting, the company's European operations, including new projects coming to market, the political landscape, toll road coverage, legislative changes, among others.
  • Engage with the management teams of various businesses to collect information and gain a deeper insight into their operational activities
  • Monitor the operational and financial performance of assets, identifying trends, variances from the budget, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for operational and financial improvements, supporting initiatives to implement best practices and technological innovations
  • Support the risk management process by helping to identify, assess, and document risks associated with the portfolio and assisting in developing mitigation strategies
  • Support the Analyst in the revision of portfolio financial models and the related analysis.

2.Collaboration and stakeholder reporting

  • Prepare periodic reports for internal use, detailing business performance, market conditions, and future outlooks.
  • Assist Traffic and Revenue, Investor Relations, and Finance teams in their analysis and the preparation of materials for market reporting purposes.
  • Support co-shareholders with their reporting obligations, leveraging insights from the portfolio businesses.
  • Participate in the biannual financial valuation process for each business, including the development of the assumptions to be employed

3.Support business development activities

  • Contribute to identifying opportunities to acquire or invest in additional infrastructure businesses on a global scale
  • Participate in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions, including reviewing financial, operational, and legal documents, and preparing due diligence reports

THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Master's degree in appropriate discipline (Business Administration, Economics, Engineering)
  • 2-3 years' work experience (management consulting, financial valuation, or transaction services)
  • Strong analytical background and quantitative skills
  • Financial modelling experience
  • Fluency in English, French and German are considered as a strong asset
  • Transportation or Infrastrucure experience would be appreciated
  • Private Equity / M&A experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and able to take an analytical and strategic approach to the role
  • Use of clear and effective writing and verbal skills to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies
  • Demonstrates effective listening skills, and ability to understand and modify positions to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes
  • Builds relationships and works collaboratively with others, especially in small teams
  • Demonstrates capacity to work with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
  • Able to proactively manage workload and requirements independently
  • Self-motivated, reliable and can be counted upon to deliver
  • Prioritises work to meet commitments aligned with organisational goals
