Task Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage Cargolux’ flight operational schedule for the coming 72 hours.
- Serve as the focal point during disruptions.
- Identify, analyze, develop, implement, and monitor recovery plans.
Operational Management:
- Provide day-to-day administrative, functional, and technical direction to Flight Operations Officers (FOOs).
- Interact with all operating sections/departments to ensure all flights, opportunities, operating constraints and irregular operations recovery options are identified.
- Ensure proper coordination with internal and external stakeholders regarding flight operations, responding to inquiries, and providing assistance as required.
Meetings and Communication:
- Lead daily operational meetings with other Cargolux’ departments to discuss and elaborate on the daily plan and monitor the next 72 hours.
- Collate information for daily and weekly meetings to ensure all delay information is compiled for presentation and discussion.
Flight Operational Support:
- Provide flight operational support through dispatch services, including flight planning, flight watch, weather briefing, and communications as required by Cargolux Operations Manuals, standards, and best practices.
- Continuously monitor the company operations using all available means (e.g., comms, AIMS, VHF, LIDO FP, SATCOM, ACARS, etc.) to ensure uninterrupted services.
External Coordination:
- Review services provided by external service providers and report to the Head of Department when Service Level Agreements are not met or in case of any problems.
- Initiate and coordinate airport handling (e.g., ground handling, fueling) when diversions to offline airports are required.
Reporting:
- Monitor the daily aircraft status report and advise FOOs about any operational or engineering requirements.
- Report to management as needed.
Essential Requirements For The Position:
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience within an airline operational environment (Operations Control is a must).
- Be able to read/understand/make use of main aviation codes, charts, standards and phraseology.
- Preferably holding a Flight Dispatch license (i.e. FAA).
- Ability to stay calm and patient under pressure.
- Ability to make decisions on the spot even in high-stress situations.
- Computer literate with understanding of Microsoft applications.
- Able to assimilate information, determine priorities and make decisions based on sound judgement.
- Natural team leader and player.
- Previous experience with main dispatch and operations control tools is a plus.
- Previous experience with AIMS/Lido/Fusion/Sita OnAir main dispatch and ops control tools is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, permanent position based in Luxembourg.
- 24/7/365 shifts.
- Reporting to the Head of IACC.
- A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection.
- Juniority of the position will depend upon the candidate's experience and profile.
