Technology & Operations design and integrate software applications ranging from portfolio management systems, trading platforms to banking and corporate solutions. The division is responsible for some of the Group’s key innovations while sustaining business operations and developing custodian and funds administration services.
 

You will join our Tax Reclaim & Relief's team.

 

Your role

 

  • Understand how double taxation treaties work.
  • Understand the full tax reclaim process:
    • Analyze the recoverable amount's potential derived from incomes.
    • Understand differences between legal structures of clients (e.g., individuals, companies, trusts, etc.) from a tax point of view.
    • Understand the links between all counterparties (sub-custodians, tax administrations, internal counterparties) and complete and gather the relevant documentation in a timely manner, following up on the process until acceptance on the sub-custodian or tax administration side.
  • Manage the entire tax recovery process:
    • Prepare tax reclaim requests.
    • Respond to external requests for information from sub-custodians and tax administrations.
    • Reconcile and credit the tax recoverable amounts refunded.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner (PO) of the service, as well as the IT department, to implement legal and process changes into the tax system tool.
  • Ensure all data is up to date in the tax tool to avoid production errors.
  • Work in close collaboration with the different teams of the Tax department.
  • Handle inquiries and address country-specific tax questions from internal counterparties.
  • Analyze potential changes/opportunities in new markets.
  • Report to management with recurrent and accurate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).

 

Your profile

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Economics. 
  • Min 3 years' experience in tax department of an audit/tax firm or the back-office’s department of a bank.

 

Knowledge / technical skills:

  • Very good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good knowledge of banking system (e.g., Avaloq).

 

Soft skills:

  • Ability to cope with stress.
  • Team spirit.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Results-driven and impact-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to navigate in a consistently changing environment.

 

Language skills:

  • Fluent in French and English.
