As a Junior Data Engineer, you will join our dynamic IT department and be part of a major transformation project as we move our on-premises data warehouse to a cutting-edge cloud solution, using Databricks and other industry-leading data tools. Your initial focus will be on assisting in making the migration successful. After the migration, you'll continue to shape and maintain our cloud-based data platform.

This opportunity is a full-time CDI contract. 

ABOUT THE JOB | Your responsibilities

• Support Data Migration: Assist in moving our on-premises data warehouse to a cloud-based Data Lakehouse, gaining hands-on experience with cloud technology
• Build & Maintain Data Pipelines: Help develop and maintain data workflows and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure smooth data operations
• Ensure Data Quality: Learn and apply best practices for data quality and governance, helping to maintain reliable and accurate data
•  Collaborate on Data Solutions: Work closely with data analysts and scientists to understand their needs and help design effective data solutions
• Improve Data Pipeline Performance: Support the optimisation of data pipelines to improve performance and scalability
• Grow Your Skills: Participate in training and certification programs to build your expertise in Azure Databricks and other data tools

ABOUT YOU | Your background, skills and personality

• University degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Solid understanding of SQL and data warehousing concepts
• Introductory experience in data modelling and ETL processes, with a willingness to learn more
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure is a plus), with an eagerness to deepen your expertise
• A passion for data engineering and a quick learner who’s open to exploring new technologies
• Bonus Skills: any experience or certifications in Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms are a plus
• Familiarity with Python or R is helpful but not required
• Fluency in English is essential
