We are seeking a Paralegal Officer within our Tax - Financial Services Team

What you will be working on
- Responsible for handling mail and correspondence received from the tax authorities.
- Sorting and organizing incoming mail.
- Ensuring that all documents are properly logged and filed for easy reference / updating and maintaining appropriate sharing platforms or gateways with clients.
- Review and analyze the content of the correspondence to determine the appropriate course of action.
- Pre-reading work of legal documents to understand legal deadlines and monitoring.
- Effective communication with internal team members and external parties.
- Follow-up with the various stakeholders within the team and/or clients to ensure actions are undertaken to meet deadlines.
- Contact tax authorities for deadlines to facilitate communication.
- Help preparing files (which includes preparing documents, collecting documents, creating proper filing).
- Project management /tracking of these legal deadlines for internal audit purposes (writing reports, follow-up actions, etc..).
- Monitor some planning deadlines defined within the Financial Services Tax team.
- Understanding and monitoring of tax reclaim / appeal procedure.
What we look for
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law or similar field.
- An experience as a paralegal in a law firm would be considered as a plus.
- Supremely organized and detail oriented.
- An effective and patient communicator.
- An excellent problem solver.
- Exercise sound judgment, manage risks effectively.
- Demonstrate a relentless commitment to delivering work of the highest quality.
- Distinguish yourself by your organizational skills, flexibility, team spirit and dynamism.
- Able to work with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
- Proficiency in English (French and German are considered as an asset).
