Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer who can drive projects and actions which improve processes and reduce machine downtime to achieve the development and performance of our Luxembourg sites.
The ideal candidate, who will report to the Head of Maintenance, will work cross-functionally, collaborating with various stakeholders: she/he will also provide training and support to the maintenance and production teams, and will coordinate the troubleshooting and repair of all plant mechanical, electrical, controls and automation systems.

The role:
· Ensure compliance with the company regulatory and safety framework (people and properties on sites)
· Evaluate current work procedures and methods, propose, describe, test and implement improvements, new techniques and methods, as well as provide specialized maintenance tasks and expertise
· Work directly with production associates, maintenance teams and supervisors to diagnose machine operation variations and equipment problems
· Manage projects which improve machine functionality and/or reduce labor costs – develop quote requests, schedule meetings with suppliers, develop work scopes, etc.
· Manage the planning, scheduling, and cost controlling of maintenance projects
· Anticipate investments for the replacement of obsolete equipment to increase availability and reduce operational and maintenance costs
· Perform short-term inspection of the production equipment and cleaning
· Drive a culture of proactive preventative maintenance
· Ensure that sufficient equipment specifications/documentation are available for maintenance
· Maintain a high standard of work ethic and workmanship for all employees in the Maintenance Organization

Must haves:
· Master’s degree in engineering
· 1-5 years, or more, of hands-on mechanical and/or electrical experience in a production environment, or in a plant industrial maintenance role, preferable in Steel, Mining and Oil & Gas industry
· Technical knowledge, skills and abilities in the maintenance of industrial machinery
· Team management experience
· Strong understanding of safety procedures: promoting and supporting actions towards Safety, Health and environment protection
· Languages: French (minimum) & English
