Experis Luxembourg is seeking an experienced Mainframe z/OS Transaction Portal Subsystem Specialist with expertise in IMS and CICS. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining z/OS transaction portal subsystems to ensure high availability and performance. This role involves installation, maintenance, support, and assisting in release management while delivering high quality customer service within defined SLAs and adhering to ITIL processes.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage transaction portal subsystems (IMS, CICS) with responsibilities including installation, maintenance, support, and release management.
- Provide comprehensive z/OS support, including problem analysis and resolution.
- Ensure high-quality customer service by meeting SLA expectations and ITIL process requirements.
- Collaborate closely with other teams as a technical resource and subject matter expert.
- Open and follow up on support cases with hardware and software suppliers as needed.
- Participate actively in OS upgrades to new releases and support ongoing maintenance efforts.
- Contribute to the upgrade of third-party software products (DB/2, Datacom, CICS, Cobol, IBM MQ, IWS, etc.) to new releases.
- Embrace team spirit and demonstrate willingness to collaborate within a team of z/OS experts.
- Be available for on-call periods, with potential evening or weekend work.
Your profile:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of z/OS Transaction Portal major subsystems, specifically IMS and CICS.
- Proficiency in z/OS system installation, maintenance, tuning, and monitoring.
- Familiarity with z/OS major functions/facilities, such as JES/2, DFSMS, SMP/E, and USS, with experience in installation, management, and tuning.
- Proficiency in key z/OS scripting languages (JCL, REXX, CLIST).
- Fluency in English, French or Spain will be considered as an asset.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Familiarity with additional z/Series subsystems, including DB/2, Datacom, MQ, IWS, and TPX.
- Experience with automation tools such as OPS/MVS.
