Headquartered in Luxembourg, Lombard International Assurance S.A. is an insurance carrier specialising in manufacturing unit-linked life insurance solutions. These solutions are distributed by various regulated intermediaries, including private banks, family offices, asset managers, independent wealth and financial advisers, wealth and insurance brokers, professional advisory firms and other advisers active in the private wealth sector.

 

Distribution Companies

The Group has a number of wholly owned investment and insurance distribution businesses who market and advise on unit-linked life assurance products manufactured by Lombard International Assurance S.A.

Your role – Are you ready for a challenge?

As a member of the Risk team, your role is to support the maintenance and constant improvement of the

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework and to implement it by advising and assisting the business

in the daily identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of operational and strategic risks.

Your responsibilities will be as follows:


  • Review operational, financial and strategic risks with subject matter experts and management as part of the self-assessment process;
  • Analyse processes and controls and propose improvements to ensure that related risks are in line with the Company’s risk appetite;
  • Review and advise on operational incidents, to analyse their root causes and prevent recurrence;
  • Perform process reviews and control testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of the control environment and report on results;
  • Proactively assist in the preparation of reports to management incl. the preparation and validation of data;
  • Liaise with other control functions such as Compliance and Internal Audit;
  • Participate in the assessment of the capital requirements for operational risks under Solvency II;
  • Actively contribute in strengthening the risk and control maturity level across the company;
  • Identify and suggest new ideas and solutions, thinking out of the box to support constant improvement of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework;


Your profile – Have you got what it takes to become our Risk & Control Specialist?


  • University degree with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in risk, control or audit functions;
  • Sound understanding of the financial services sector in Europe, preferably wealth management and life insurance is desirable;
  • Highly developed communication skills and confidence in interacting with colleagues across the company;
  • Experience in writing concise and accurate reports to committees;
  • Curious, proactive, team player and fast learner;
  • Positive, demonstrate resilience and doer attitude;
  • Strong client relationship management skills;
  • Strong time management skills, and ability to multitask;
  • Sound knowledge of VBA, Excel and quantitative modelling would be a considerable asset;
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of any additional European languages is an asset
